Christina Kennedy is an associate at Foley & Lardner LLP, and is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Labor & Employment Practices.
Ms. Kennedy's business litigation practice consists of regularly assisting clients in a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters. Ms. Kennedy also has experience in various insolvency and bankruptcy related matters.
In addition to her business litigation practice, Ms. Kennedy regularly represents employers on a wide variety of issues before state and federal trial courts as well as administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Kennedy provides advice and counsel to employers in complying with the myriad of laws which regulate the employment process.
Ms. Kennedy received her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2008), where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, senior articles editor for the University of Miami Law Review, vice president of the Honor Council, and a member of the Center for Ethics and Public Service – Elder Law Project. In addition, she worked as a research assistant to a professor specializing in labor and employment law. During law school, she was a Kenny Nachwalter Scholar and a recipient of numerous merit scholarships, including the Deans' Merit and the Gail and Joseph Serota scholarships. She also participated in the litigation skills program where she was awarded "honors" in both pretrial and trial skills courses.
Ms. Kennedy received her bachelor’s degree in political science, with minors in environmental and international studies, from the Wake Forest University (B.A., cum laude, 2005), where she studied abroad in Vienna, Austria.
Ms. Kennedy authored, "Minding the Liability Gap: American Contractors, Iraq, and the Outsourcing of Impunity," 62 U. Miami. L. Rev. 651 (2008). She is also the co-author of an article titled "Brussels muscle," that appeared in the January 22, 2010 issue of The Deal.
Ms. Kennedy is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
