Elizabeth P. Hanigan is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Energy Industry Team and Finance & Financial Institutions Practice. Her areas of practice include a broad range of business and financial matters, including renewable energy development, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
In the energy and project finance sector, Ms. Hanigan routinely advises developers, in connection with the acquisition, development, construction and financing of renewable energy generation projects, with a particular emphasis on wind and solar facilities. Ms. Hanigan also represents lenders and investors with respect to the financing of energy generation facilities.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Hanigan served on former Wisconsin Governor Tommy G. Thompson’s policy staff.
In 2012, Ms. Hanigan was recognized by the Legal 500 for her work in both project finance and renewable/alternative energy. She was named an Up and Coming Lawyer for 2010 by the Wisconsin Law Journal. This award recognizes rising stars in Wisconsin’s legal community who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, contributed to their community, and successfully achieved notable legal outcomes early in their careers.
Ms. Hanigan graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University Law School (J.D., 2002), where she served as editor-in-chief of the Marquette Law Review. Her undergraduate degree in political science was conferred by Indiana University (B.A., 1994).
Ms. Hanigan’s professional affiliations include memberships in the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
