Emily O'Leary is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. Her practice includes varied types of complex commercial litigation, labor and employment law, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and representing lenders in complex commercial foreclosure and loan workouts.
Ms. O'Leary earned her J.D. from the William & Mary School of Law. During law school, she clerked with a Marks Gray, P.A. in Jacksonville, Florida; the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General – Real Estate and Land Use Division; and the Honorable James E. Bradberry of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Ms. O'Leary was also an articles editor of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal as well as a student member of the I’Anson-Hoffman American Inn of Court. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, in English (B.A., cum laude) where she was inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame for excellence in academics, service and leadership, an honor bestowed on only 25 University students annually and one of the most prestigious awards given by the school. In addition, Ms. O'Leary served as president of the Women’s Leadership Council and president of Recurso, a non-profit organization, was a J. Wayne Reitz Scholar, and was tapped into the Florida Blue Key as well as inducted into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. O'Leary practiced as an associate with Brennan, Manna & Diamond, P.L., in Jacksonville, Florida, where her practice areas included commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and labor and employment law.
Ms. O'Leary is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association and Jacksonville Bar Association, and an associate of the Chester Bedell American Inn of Court. Ms. O'Leary serves as a member of the board of directors of the North Florida Alumni Chapter of the College of William & Mary, and is an active member with the Junior League of Jacksonville.
