Jacqueline Acosta is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Bankruptcy & Business Reorganizations Practices.
Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Acosta worked as assistant project superintendant at Mercedes Homes. In that capacity, she assisted in coordinating all phases of residential construction.
During law school, Ms. Acosta was a summer associate with Foley (2008), where she assisted attorneys in the areas of bankruptcy, business law, corporate transactions, taxation, public finance, landlord/tenant law, sports law and immigration law. She also was a volunteer at Three Rivers Legal Services in Gainesville, Florida.
Ms. Acosta is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2009). While there, she received a book award in contracts, was on the dean’s list, and was a commissioner of the University of Florida Student Constitutional Review Committee. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida (B.S.B.A., cum laude, 2005), where she was a Florida Bright Future Scholar and received the President’s Award. She also studied at John Cabot University in Rome during the summer of 2004.
Ms. Acosta co-authored the article "UK Bribery Act: Raising the Bar for Anti-Corruption Programs" for the Practising Law Institute program titled "The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act" (May 5, 2011).
Ms. Acosta is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She is fluent in Spanish.
