Yana Gorbach is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm’s IP Litigation and Trademark, Copyright & Advertising Practices.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Gorbach was a legal fellow with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, where she advised low-income artists and arts organizations in the areas of intellectual property and contract law. Ms. Gorbach participated in Foley’s 2008 summer associate program and worked as a law clerk in Foley’s Chicago office.
Ms. Gorbach earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law (2009), where she was director of publicity & outreach of the Intellectual Property Law Society. She earned an LL.M. degree, with honors, from Chicago-Kent College Of Law (2003). Ms. Gorbach earned a law degree from Free University of Berlin, Germany (2002).
She is a co-author of an article titled "The Evolving Role of Custom and Usage of Reinsurance Contracts," which was published in the LexisNexis Insurance Law Center (2008).
Ms. Gorbach is a member of the New York State Bar Association and a member of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. She is admitted to practice in New York. Ms. Gorbach is fluent in German and Russian.
