John M. Olson is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP where he was a member of the firm's Transactional & Securities Practice. His practice included acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate control contests and general business law, as well as personal planning for business ownership.
Mr. Olson is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He served as chairman of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin from 1992-1993 and has served on several legislative advisory and drafting task forces appointed by the governor and the commissioner of securities of Wisconsin. His articles on corporate and securities regulation topics have appeared in a number of national professional publications. He serves on the boards of several business and charitable entities.
Mr. Olson received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1976. He graduated, summa cum laude, from Princeton University in 1971 with a degree in English, and completed work on an additional bachelor's degree at New College, Oxford (England) in 1972.
