Kadie M. Jelenchick is senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP where she focuses her practice on the resolution of patent, trademark, counterfeiting, copyright, and other intellectual property disputes spanning many industries, including health care, telecommunications, software, internet applications, food, fragrance, and consumer products. She is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and is also a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee.
Ms. Jelenchick received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, she was a senior articles editor for the Houston Journal of International Law. She received her bachelor’s degree, with distinction, in biomedical engineering from the University of Rochester.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Jelenchick was a judicial intern for the Honorable Sim Lake of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and for the Honorable Arthur J. Gajarsa of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Ms. Jelenchick is a former adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School, where she co-taught an intellectual property litigation course. She has also lectured and presented on various discovery topics, including e-discovery and depositions, as well as alternative fee billing and ethics.
Ms. Jelenchick is committed to pro bono work as she regularly donates her time and legal services to Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Volunteer Lawyers Project. In 2011, Ms. Jelenchick was awarded the Outstanding Pro Bono Participation Award from Legal Action of Wisconsin for her contributions. In addition, Ms. Jelenchick is vice chair of Foley’s Milwaukee Office Pro Bono Committee and chair of the board for the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse, a nonprofit organization which to date has raised nearly $4.8 million for breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Ms. Jelenchick is a member of the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, Association for Women Lawyers, and the Women in IP Law Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
In 2012, Ms. Jelenchick received Foley’s IP Founders award, recognizing her service to her clients, her colleagues, and the firm. In 2011 and 2012, she was selected for inclusion in the Wisconsin Super Lawyers – Rising Stars® list.
Ms. Jelenchick is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
