Liliana Di Nola-Baron is a patent agent with Foley & Lardner LLP. Dr. Di Nola-Baron‘s practice includes drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in a broad spectrum of technologies, including drugs, pharmaceuticals, small molecules, food, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, agriculture, and biotechnology.
Dr. DiNola-Baron also assists with conducting due diligence analyses, preparing freedom to operate opinions, and counseling clients on a variety of intellectual property issues.
In 2010 Dr. Di Nola-Baron spent a year in Israel, where she worked as a patent agent at Pearl, Cohen, Zedek, Latzer, and was admitted to practice in front of the Israeli Patent Office.
Prior to joining Foley, Dr. Di Nola-Baron was a patent agent at Sterne, Kessler, Godstein & Fox, P.L.L.C. in Washington, D.C.
From 1999 to 2004, Dr. Di Nola-Baron was a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where she determined the patentability of patent applications in the fields of pharmaceuticals, drugs, food supplements, cosmetics, implants and polymers.
Dr. Di Nola-Baron graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, where she received her B.Sc. in agriculture (1980), her M.Sc. in botany (1982) and her Ph.D. in biochemistry (1986). Her practical research experience includes working as a molecular biologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the MIT, an immunologist for the Food and Drug Administration and a biochemist for the Universite` P. et M. Curie in Paris, France.
Dr. Di Nola-Baron is a member of AIPLA and the National Association of Women Lawyers. She is registered to practice as a patent agent before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Di Nola-Baron is fluent in English, Italian and Hebrew, with comprehensive knowledge of French and Spanish.
