Marion Baker is Intellectual Property Department operating officer of Foley & Lardner. Ms. Baker is responsible for developing the department's business plan and monitoring its progress, analyzing the profitability of work performed, and managing all aspects of IP operations, including human resources, recruiting, space planning, and marketing.
Marion has an extensive background in the successful management of personnel, departments and projects for national law firms, Big Five accounting firms, and the military. Before joining Foley & Lardner she served as deputy executive director and management committee member of a 350-attorney law firm, as national director of operations for the Economic Consulting Services Group of a worldwide accounting firm, and as administrator of a national law firm's Washington, D.C. office. Marion also was an administrator in the U.S. Marine Corps, and is chair emeritus of the nonprofit Marine Executive Association.
In the past four years, Ms. Baker has presented over 25 seminars on human resource management topics, including an appearance as a panel expert in a televised interactive program on workplace violence and sexual harassment. She holds a degree in Business Administration.
