Michael A. Schultz is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm’s Private Equity & Venture Capital, Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling, and Transactional & Securities Practices as well as the Emerging Technologies Industry Team.
Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Schultz was a research assistant focusing on corporate governance and business ethics with the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Before entering law school, Mr. Schultz was a corporate accountant and worked in the hospitality industry in operations management.
Mr. Schultz earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. 2009), where he was an associate editor and contributing editor to the Michigan Telecommunications & Technology Law Review. He earned a Masters of Accounting, with high distinction, and a Bachelors of Business Administration, with distinction, from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
Mr. Schultz co-authored an article titled "The Impact of the ‘Say-on-Pay' Vote on the CEO Evaluation Process" that appeared in BNA's Corporate Governance Report on October 3, 2011.
Mr. Schultz is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association.
