California's Construction General Permit Web Conference: Session II — Navigating the Newly Adopted Regulations

The California State Water Resources Control Board recently adopted the General Permit for Discharges of Storm Water Associated with Construction Activities (Construction General Permit), a move that creates significant implications for California contractors, builders, developers, property owners, and lenders.

Foley Partner S. Wayne Rosenbaum, Dr. David Roberts of Nautilus Environmental, and Shaun Flater of Whitson Contracting & Management provided insightful discussion and analysis on California's Construction General Permit: Session II — Navigating the Newly Adopted Regulations. Our speakers discussed the new permit and outline the issues and concerns surrounding its implementation.

Topics included:

  • Monitoring and reporting requirements for each risk level
  • Implementing the monitoring program, including sample handling and collection procedures
  • Bioassessments — background, rationale, procedures, and implementation issues
  • Toxicity testing requirements for sites operating active treatment systems (ATS)
