California's Construction General Permit Web Conference: Session V — Understanding the Storm Water Multiple Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS)

The California State Water Resources Control Board recently adopted the General Permit for Discharges of Storm Water Associated with Construction Activities (Construction General Permit), a move that creates significant implications for California contractors, builders, developers, property owners, and lenders.

In the fifth session of the California's Construction General Permit Web Conference series, Foley Partner S. Wayne Rosenbaum, Kelly Doyle of Rick Engineering Company, and Nida Saleem of Whitson Contracting & Management explained SMARTS and what you need to know about the system.

Topics included:

  • Basics of how to use the SMARTs program
  • Understanding the electronic submittal process
  • Considerations for electronic document management throughout the duration of the project
  • Legal issues surrounding the SMARTs program

For more information, please contact Elie Harris at eharris@foley.com.
