Rich Judge Named to Lead John Kerry's Presidential Campaign in Wisconsin
Kerry Campaign: Announces Wisconsin Leadership Team

Campaign Building Diverse, Growing Organization in Battleground State

(Madison, WI) — John Kerry's presidential campaign today announced its Wisconsin leadership team, which will be chaired by Gov. Jim Doyle. The team includes African-Americans for Kerry, Latinos for Kerry, Women for Kerry and a diverse, statewide Wisconsin Steering Committee.

Seasoned campaign strategist Richard Judge of Milwaukee will serve as State Director for the Kerry campaign. Judge has worked extensively in Wisconsin politics over the past 10 years, most recently serving as Political Director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. He served as Field Director for the state's Coordinated Campaign in 2002, and has also worked in both the State Assembly and State Senate. Judge comes to the Kerry campaign from the law firm of Foley & Lardner, where he served as a Public Affairs Advisor.

Judge joins a staff of six other Kerry workers who have been on the ground since May in Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay and Eau Claire.

The statewide leadership team includes co-chairs Sen. Herb Kohl, Sen. Russ Feingold, Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager, Cong. David Obey, Cong. Jerry Kleczka, Cong. Ron Kind, Cong. Tammy Baldwin and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. The African-Americans for Kerry Chairs are State Sen. G. Spencer Coggs, Milwaukee City Council President Willie Hines, Milwaukee County Democratic Party Chair Martha Love and Dane County Supervisor Rob Fyrst. The Latinos for Kerry Chairs are State Rep. Pedro Colón, Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West, Madison School Board Member Juan Jose Lopez, Milwaukee School Board Member Jennifer Morales and UW Regent Jesus Salas. The Women for Kerry Co-Chairs are Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager, Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Linda Honold and Milwaukee County Democratic Party Chair Martha Love. The Milwaukee Chair will be former Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt.

“John Kerry is building a strong organization in Wisconsin, and I am honored to chair this effort,” said Governor Doyle. “The voters of Wisconsin are going to be offered a clear choice in November: John Kerry's plans for building stronger families and a stronger America, versus George Bush's four-year record of failure on job creation, health care costs, gas prices and more. We are going to build the strongest grassroots organization Wisconsin has ever seen and win this state for John Kerry, because nothing less than the future of our nation is at stake in this election.”

A current list of the constantly-growing support for John Kerry from community leaders across the state is attached.
