Laurence R. Arnold is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. A member of the firm's Labor & Employment Practice, he focuses his practice in the area of labor relations, including the representation of employers in union organizing drives and election proceedings, unfair labor practice proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration and arbitrations, and strike preparation and management. He has advised many clients on both the strategic and the practical employment and labor relations implications of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Mr. Arnold also has extensive experience counseling and representing employers in wage and hour matters, discrimination claims (in state and federal administrative and judicial proceedings), compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the development and application of personnel policies and procedures, disciplinary issues and work force reductions. He has conducted numerous seminars for clients and industry groups on these and other related topics.

Mr. Arnold has worked for clients of varying sizes and in such industries as retail, construction, manufacturing, health care, transportation, print media, and the service industry.

Mr. Arnold is a member of the American Bar Association and the Labor Law Sections of both the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Arnold is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law (J.D., with distinction, 1976), where he was Order of the Coif and on the board of editors of Emory Law Journal, and the University of Virginia (B.A., 1973). He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1976, the Virginia Bar in 1987, and the California Bar in 1988, and remains a member of each bar.
