Keith D. Lindenbaum
Partner

A partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, Keith D. Lindenbaum is a member of the Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice; Green Energy Technologies Team; and International Practice Team.

His practice focuses on intellectual property counseling and strategic IP management. Mr. Lindenbaum counsels clients in a number of technologies, including medical devices, consumer products, alternative energy, and software related inventions.

Mr. Lindenbaum's experience includes conducting ideation sessions, conducting patent risk assessment analysis, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and establishing world wide patenting strategies. His experience also includes drafting legal opinions and various types of intellectual property licensing agreements.

As chair of the firm's Israel Practice, Mr. Lindenbaum works with business and private equity attorneys to provide IP and business counseling to Israeli start-up companies doing business in the US.

He received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University in 1985. Mr. Lindenbaum obtained his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1994 and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Lindenbaum speaks on a number of IP topics. Recent presentations include:

  • "IP Licensing Strategies," presented at the Wisconsin Innovation Service Center Ideas to Profits Seminar, 2008
  • "IP Licensing Strategies," presented at the Milwaukee Bar Association CLE, 2008
  • "Medimmune v. Genentech and its Aftermath – Ramifications and Strategies for Licensors and Licensees," presented to the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, 2007

Mr. Lindenbaum serves as a director for a number of non-profit organizations. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
