Henry "Eddie" Mahe Jr. is a strategic communications consultant with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm's Government & Public Policy and Real Estate Practices, as well as the Energy, Food and Sports Industry Teams. Mr. Mahe was chairman and founder of the Eddie Mahe Company, a strategic communications firm specializing in business, association and political communications.Mr. Mahe has extensive experience in both the corporate and political arenas. In the early 1980s, he developed public marketplace campaigns for businesses translating political campaign skills for corporations facing winning or losing situations. He also works with agribusiness coalitions in several states to offset challenges by environmental and animal rights organizations. He develops strategic plans with thorough understanding of and experience working against opposition groups and has extensive knowledge and coordination of survey and focus group research and strategic message positioning. He has given presentations on agriculture and environmental assessments; conducted and analyzed survey data focus group research; and has been a leader and facilitator for organization and association planning sessions. Mr. Mahe has worked with clients from numerous industries, including insurance, development, natural resources, transportation, utilities, agriculture and city and state governments. He has developed campaign strategy and public support for hosting major events, as well as franchise bids and stadium development. He worked with the United States Soccer Federation to design the campaign, develop the bid, and provide the staff for the 1994 World Cup. Mr. Mahe has served as deputy chairman of the Republican National Committee, and has consulted on numerous state and federal candidate campaigns, including those of Presidents Reagan and Bush. Mr. Mahe was a teaching fellow at the Institute of Politics, Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University during the fall of 1981. He is a frequent commentator on current political affairs in the national media. A graduate of the University of Denver, Mr. Mahe was one of six alumni selected to receive the Master Scholars Recognition in 1998.
