Byron L. Gregory is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm's Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. His practice focuses on antitrust, product liability, securities, intellectual property and insurance.Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Gregory was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He has represented manufacturers, insurance companies, finance companies and publishers. He has tried a number of significant cases related to antitrust, patents and trademarks, unfair competition, securities fraud, insurance, alcohol beverages, mass tort litigation, asbestos and tax liens. Mr. Gregory has been lead counsel in five significant intellectual property cases involving underground electrical equipment, recessed lighting, smoke detectors, carbonless copy paper, and trademark rights for a rock band. Mr. Gregory has been involved in and settled thousands of asbestos lawsuits representing both manufacturers and insurance companies (e.g., AIG and Allstate) throughout the United States, principally in connection with class actions. He has spoken frequently on antitrust laws and the law of damages and equitable relief and has authored articles for law journals and continuing legal education programs on antitrust matters. His J.D. degree was conferred by Northwestern University School of Law, and he holds a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. Mr. Gregory was selected for inclusion in the 2005, 2009 and 2010 Illinois Super Lawyers® list.* Mr. Gregory is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago bar associations.
