Hector Agdeppa is an associate with Foley & Lardner's Electronics and Intellectual Property Litigation Practices. Mr. Agdeppa focuses on general patent prosecution in the mechanical, electrical, and computer software arts, and has been involved in patent litigation support. His technical experience includes work with electrical systems and devices, networking, telecommunications and data communications systems, computer software, video coding and communication protocols, consumer products, and financial software products. Mr. Agdeppa has also performed freedom to operate searches for a variety of companies, ranging from consumer product manufacturers to online social networking operators.

Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Agdeppa worked as a registered patent examiner with the United States Patent & Trademark Office where he specialized in the examination and prosecution of patent applications relating to telecommunications, specifically: special services, system level call routing and related protocols, Internet and mobile communications, computer telephone integration, and terminal equipment and structures. Mr. Agdeppa's experience at the USPTO also included examining PCT applications, answering appellant briefs, performing reexaminations and reissues, as well as training and mentoring junior patent examiners.

Mr. Agdeppa also worked as a software test engineer for Motorola, Inc. and as a validation engineer for Abbott Laboratories and the Sverdrup Facilities Group.

Mr. Agdeppa is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Additionally, he was actively involved as a volunteer teacher with the ByteBack Organization, a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit dedicated to educating underprivileged children in basic computer skills.

In 1995, Mr. Agdeppa received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in electrical engineering. He earned his Juris Doctorate from American University's Washington College of Law in 2005.
