Theresa Andre is senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP, where she is a member of the Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation; Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution; and Distribution & Franchise Practices and the Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Team. In addition to insurance and distribution & franchise cases, Ms. Andre has extensive experience litigating federal, state, and local tax cases and resolution of complex tax disputes. She is also a former member of the firm’s National Associates Committee and Recruiting Committee.
Ms. Andre has represented insurance companies in a variety of litigation matters, including coverage disputes, class actions, and regulatory matters. In addition, Ms. Andre has litigated numerous dealership cases in both federal and state court in connection with dealership terminations, antitrust and pricing matters and trade secret misappropriation and non-competition agreements. Her tax experience includes litigating various valuation issues in complex property tax matters, including the assessments of office buildings, a golf course and personal property.

Ms. Andre graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Madison where she served as a managing editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal. She was also elected to the Order of the Coif. She received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in English from Saint Norbert College. While at St. Norbert, Ms. Andre received the Rev. Patrick N. Butler Award for Excellence in English studies and a writing award presented by the famous American writer John Updike for a critical essay she wrote entitled: “Totalitarian Goals v. Utopian Ideals: Orwell’s Warning on the Antithetical Nature of Totalitarianism to Humankind’s Pursuit of the Ideal Society.”
In 2012, In Business magazine cited Ms. Andre as one of the “40 under 40” upcoming business leaders in the Greater Madison Area. Also in 2012, she was appointed to Leadership Greater Madison’s LGM19, an advanced leadership training program. Ms. Andre serves on the Dane County Bar Association’s Committee for Resolution of Fee Disputes and on the Friends of MSCR board of directors.
Ms. Andre is a member of the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and the Western District of Wisconsin Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the State of Wisconsin, the Western District of Wisconsin, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
