Travis W. Simmons is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the firm’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice.
While attending law school, Mr. Simmons clerked for Foley preparing patent applications and assisting attorneys with various patent prosecution matters.
Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Simmons worked for Johnson Controls Inc. as a design engineer, developing mechanism systems for use within JCI’s automotive seating business and was awarded two U.S. patents for seat mechanisms. He also was employed by Frigidaire Home Products as a co-op engineer, where he worked on the mechanical and thermal systems for refrigerators.
Mr. Simmons graduated magna cum laude from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law where he was inducted into the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society. He graduated from the University of Michigan–Dearborn (M.S.E., mechanical engineering) and from GMI Engineering and Management Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan (B.S., mechanical engineering).
Mr. Simmons is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
