Ms. Refuerzo’s experience includes a wide array of transactional work, including securities, mergers & acquisitions, finance, real estate, corporate governance and general corporate. She represents issuers and investment banks in securities offerings, including initial public offerings, private placements and non-public offerings under Rule 144A. Ms. Refuerzo also represents buyers and sellers in public and private mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances in a variety of industries. She is a member of the firm’s Transactional & Securities and Real Estate Practices. Ms. Refuerzo’s finance practice includes the representation of investors in institutional private placements, venture capital and general corporate financings, and energy and project finance. Ms. Refuerzo’s experience in real estate and energy and project finance includes representing developers in the construction, development and financing of renewable energy generation facilities, including wind and solar facilities. Her real estate experience also includes representing investors in real estate assets, land use matters, real estate acquisitions, developments, financings, and leasing. Her practice encompasses such diverse assets as retail centers, health care centers and mixed-use developments. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Refuerzo was an environmental planner in San Francisco, California where she worked on various land use and zoning matters in connection with the California Environmental Quality Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Recognition Ms. Refuerzo was named to the 2016 Illinois Super Lawyers–Rising Stars® list for her work in mergers and acquisitions.
