Hogan Special Counsel chogan foley.com Download vCard Caroline Hogan is special counsel and a litigation attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP where she focuses her practice in the area of labor and employment law. Ms. Hogan represents and counsels employers on a wide range of labor and employment law issues, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour compliance, collective bargaining and contractual disputes arising out of employment agreements. Ms. Hogan has extensive experience representing employers in federal and state court and before governmental agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Wisconsin’s Equal Rights Division. Ms. Hogan also provides clients with practical advice and proactive counseling regarding the best practices to comply with the complexities of federal, state and local law and to avoid employee complaints and litigation. Ms. Hogan is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice. Prior to rejoining Foley, Ms. Hogan was legal counsel for Harley-Davidson Motor Company where she advised on employment issues and human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws such as Title VII, ADAAA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA and NLRA. In addition, Ms. Hogan provided counsel and support on performance management, separation processes and reductions-in-force. She gained experience with Foley early in her career as an associate and senior counsel in the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Appellate Practices, litigating a wide variety of complex commercial cases in federal and state courts, and handling arbitration and mediation proceedings. Ms. Hogan began her legal career clerking at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin for the Honorable Robert W. Warren. Ms. Hogan later clerked for the Honorable Patricia J. Gorence and the Honorable Rudolph T. Randa. Thought Leadership Ms. Hogan has authored multiple legal bulletins for clients and has contributed to The Law Guide – Employee Relations Law for Wisconsin Employers. She also has presented training seminars to managers and HR professionals on conducting effective investigations, managing employee leaves of absences and discrimination, harassment and retaliation avoidance. Education Ms. Hogan earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (J.D., 1995), where she was a member of the Wisconsin Law Review, the National Moot Court Team, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
