Partner Nate Lacktman and Of Counsel Emily Wein were quoted in an mHealth Intelligence article, “CMS Expands Telehealth Coverage for Opioid Abuse Disorder Treatment,” about the adoption of new reimbursement codes that will allow providers to bill Medicare for telehealth services to treat opioid abuse, including care delivered to the home.
Lacktman and Wein, writing in a blog post, said the new codes, combined with recent legislation removing geographic limitations for telehealth services to individuals diagnosed with a substance abuse disorder, will provide new opportunities to deliver care to the patient’s home. “No originating site facility fee is paid when the beneficiary’s home is the originating site,” they wrote.
