American Telemedicine Association Elects Nathaniel Lacktman as Board of Directors Chair
Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that partner Nathaniel (Nate) Lacktman was elected as the new chair of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Lacktman, chair of Foley’s national Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team, is a widely recognized authority in telemedicine law. With more than 20 years’ experience, he advises entrepreneurial health care providers and technology companies on business arrangements, compliance, and corporate matters in telemedicine, digital health, remote patient monitoring, and click-and-mortar services.
ATA focuses on advancing telehealth and digital health, representing a broad and inclusive member network of leading health care delivery systems, academic institutions, life sciences companies, technology solution providers and payers, as well as partner organizations and alliances.
“Foley is a longtime supporter of the ATA’s work. I’m committed to helping the ATA push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital health and, as chair, I want to continue exploring new clinical applications of technology to improve quality and access to care,” said Lacktman. “ATA’s strides in advancing digital health benefit the entire health care ecosystem, including our Telemedicine & Digital Health clients at Foley and the patients they serve.”
Lacktman has served on the ATA Board of Directors since April 2022. He is a past recipient of the ATA’s Telehealth Champion Award, which recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to advocate for public policy changes that open payment support and provide regulatory pathways for telemedicine and digital health. He has also served on the ATA’s Policy Council and is former chair of the ATA’s Business and Policy Special Interest Group.
“Nate is tireless in his work and support for digital health in general, and the ATA and ATA Action in particular. The industry and our members continue to benefit from his deep understanding of legal, policy, and business matters,” said Ann Mond Johnson, CEO of the ATA.
Lacktman and Foley’s Telemedicine and Digital Health Industry Team help organizations and entrepreneurs embrace emerging issues in virtual care, enabling them to provide innovative care for patients in new markets worldwide. The team is nationally recognized by Chambers USA, where clients have called Foley “the premier firm for telehealth counsel,” “a market leader in telemedicine issues,” and “the Dream Team” for its unparalleled insight and knowledge of the industry.
