International business leads inevitably to international disputes. Strategies for avoiding and resolving such disputes are more varied and complex than ever.

Please join us on Friday, February 1, 2013, when Foley and international law firm Eversheds LLP will host a breakfast briefing and panel discussion on how best to avoid or resolve international disputes. Topics will include:

  • How can you avoid international disputes?
  • If unavoidable, how do you ensure you are in the best position to resolve the dispute?
  • What are the international dispute resolution options?
  • What kind of dispute resolution clauses should be included in a contract? What are the options under applicable treaties?
  • How do you ensure you are in a strong position if a dispute arises?
  • What are the best tactics for achieving a favorable result?

Panelists will include:

  • Thomas I. Elkind, Partner, Foley & Lardner LLP Boston. Tom is the former chair of Foley’s Boston Office Litigation Department and currently a member of, among other areas, our Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
  • Sven Riethmueller, Partner, Foley & Lardner LLP Boston. Sven counsels clients on complex U.S. domestic and cross-border business transactions.
