Foley Partner Nathaniel Lacktman, a member of the firm's Health Care Industry Team and Telemedicine Practice, will speak at the Colorado Hospital Association’s 2016 Telehealth Summit in Denver on October 18, 2016. His presentation is titled, “The Business of Telehealth: Contracting and Legal Issues.”

The rapid growth of telehealth technologies offers enormous benefits to the health care community, along with new provider business models and arrangements. When designing a telehealth offering, companies should explore the various financial opportunities and compensation models. These arrangements must be not only financially viable, but structured to comply with federal and state compliance laws and regulations. This session will focus on legal business models and compensation methodologies in telehealth. Attendees will:

  • Discuss legal and regulatory considerations health care providers should assess when building telehealth provider arrangements.
  • Understand telehealth payment policy and explore new opportunities for telehealth services, including emerging telehealth business models.
  • Audience Q&A will be encouraged, and there will be a strong emphasis on practical solutions and applying laws to real-world examples.

The Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) is the leading voice of the state’s hospital community. Representing over 100 hospitals and health systems throughout Colorado, CHA serves as a trusted, credible resource on health issues, hospital data and trends for the media, policymakers and the general public. Through CHA, Colorado’s hospitals work together in their shared commitment to improving health care in Colorado. Hospitals are under increasing pressure to improve both the access and the quality of care delivered to patients, while at the same time decreasing the cost. Telehealth has the potential to address some of the pressing issues facing health care delivery in our country. Join health care leaders from across Colorado for “The Business Case for Telehealth,” a one-day seminar to learn more about telehealth and the impact it could have on your operations, including dramatically lowering the costs of health care while increasing access for thousands of patients.
