Plichta and Bill Author Supplement to Audit Committee Guide Fourth Edition

Foley Partner Mark Plichta and retired Partner Arthur Bill co-authored a supplement to the fourth edition of Bowne & Co., Inc.’s Audit Committee Guide, an overview of rules and pronouncements for understanding and fulfilling the oversight responsibilities of an audit committee member.

The Audit Committee Guide (fourth edition) provides a brief description of the rules and regulations of the SEC, stock exchanges, stock markets, the PCAOB and the accounting profession that affect the responsibilities and activities of the audit committee.

This supplement to the guide includes information regarding the development of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and eXtensible business reporting language (XBRL). It also discusses questions an audit committee should consider asking its company’s financial management relating to the impact of the economic crisis on the company, as well as minor changes in SEC and stock exchange rules.
