Pravda, managing partner of the firm’s Boston office and member of the firm’s national management committee, has been named a 2010 Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Top Woman of Law. This award recognizes women who have made inspiring contributions in fields including pro bono, social justice, advocacy and business.

Pravda is the chair of the firm’s Emerging Technologies Industry Team and a member of the Private Equity & Venture Capital and Transactional & Securities Practices. She lectures frequently to businessmen/ businesswomen and professionals on buying and selling companies and is a keynote presenter for Vistage International meetings nationwide. Additionally, her articles on mergers and acquisitions, creative financing tools and negotiating techniques appear in a variety of business publications.

Among her many impressive accomplishments is the creation of the Foley Emerging Technologies Industry Team. Under her leadership, Foley also launched the Emerging Technologies Conferences in both Boston and San Diego that have become widely known and respected as a “must attend” event. The high-profile conference sponsors, ranging from BNY Mellon Bank to Vintage Filings, are evidence of its success.

As managing partner of the firm’s Boston office, Pravda encourages her colleagues to participate in pro bono and community service activities, and leads by example. She currently serves as a director of the Boston Public Library Foundation, which offers educational programs for inner-city children. She is also actively engaged in fundraising for Second Step, a comprehensive program for survivors of domestic violence, most recently by sponsoring the new outreach program in the Boston business community. As a former YWCA board member, Pravda provided leadership centered around the organization’s provision of low income housing and free medical screening programs during her tenure.

We sincerely congratulate Susan E. Pravda for being selected for this esteemed recognition as a 2010 Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Top Woman of Law.
