Carrie Hoffman Comments on the 5th Circuit's Breast-Pumping Discrimination Ruling

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the district court's finding that a new mother could be fired from her job for pumping breast milk during work hours because it did not meet the standard for sexual discrimination. "This decision is a strong indication of the general opinion on this issue, and certainly bolsters the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's view that addressing pregnancy-related discrimination should be a national priority," Ms. Hoffman said.
