Lacktman Quoted on Telemedicine and Alternative Payment Models

24 March 2016 News
Partner Nathaniel Lacktman was quoted in a Healthcare Dive article, “Telemedicine and Alternative Payment Models: An Apt Fit,” on March 24, 2016. The article discussed how telemedicine providers can best utilize alternative payment models (APMs). Lacktman said Next-Generation Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) will likely have special waivers and opportunities for virtual care. He was quoted saying, “I think it will hold true that a lot of [next-gen ACOs], when you check at the end of the year, will have added telehealth technologies within their existing operations.” He continued to explain the reasons behind telemedicine’s increase and said, “Change is happening, and we know that the Medicare program drives change on the commercial side as well. That means that it won’t just affect the people who are 65 and older. It will affect all the younger people as well.”
