Partner Michael Matthews discussed the need for more federal judges in Florida in the
Law360 article, “
Straining Under Caseload, Fla. Federal Judges Hope For Help,” which focused on a recent proposal by U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fla) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla) to grant the state 10 new federal judgeships.
Matthews explained, “our federal judges here in the Middle District of Florida are some of the hardest-working, most diligent judges you will find anywhere, but they are also some of the most overburdened. Getting six new judgeships would make a huge difference in taking some of the load off their shoulders.”
