Michael Matthews Quoted on the Need for More Federal Judges in Florida

02 June 2017 Law360 News
Partner Michael Matthews discussed the need for more federal judges in Florida in the Law360 article, “Straining Under Caseload, Fla. Federal Judges Hope For Help,” which focused on a recent proposal by U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fla) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla) to grant the state 10 new federal judgeships.

Matthews explained, “our federal judges here in the Middle District of Florida are some of the hardest-working, most diligent judges you will find anywhere, but they are also some of the most overburdened. Getting six new judgeships would make a huge difference in taking some of the load off their shoulders.”
