Perkins Comments on Texas Legislature’s 2019 Priorities

01 January 2019 Law360 News
Partner Val Perkins was quoted in the Law360 article, “Texas Legislation to Watch in 2019” about the anticipated business-oriented focus of this year’s Texas Legislature. The emphasis on business-friendly issues differs significantly from 2017’s social issues focus.

“I think it is likely that there will be less bills of that nature — maybe not necessarily filed — but moved in either house than there was last session,” Perkins said. “The feeling among some of the Republicans, particularly in the Senate, is that some of the things they tried to do in that vein last session resulted in too much distraction to get some other things passed.”
