09 February 2010 Publication

Foley Associate Ann Warren authored an article that appeared on EnergyPulse on February 9, 2010 titled “New Transmission Interconnection Procedures Needed for Independent Transmission Facilities.” Warren discusses the emergence of independent electrical power transmission projects, stating that recent trends have shifted to non-utility companies building transmission facilities that are not associated with particular generating facilities. She adds that providing a solid regulatory, contractual and legal framework for transmission interconnection requests may move the nation closer to a robust transmission system and a reliance on renewable resources.
