Foley’s International Trade Survey Referenced in Forbes About Impact of Coronavirus on Auto Supply Chain

Foley’s new International Trade and Trends in Mexico Survey was referenced in the Forbes article, “Coronavirus Effects on Auto Supply Chain Won’t Trump Trump’s Impact,” which looked at what is most impacting where cars get built and shipped. The virus is the latest hit to foreign manufacturing, but not the most important factor in the move back to manufacturing automobiles in the United States. According to the article, President Trump’s tariffs are having a greater impact followed by the new USMCA agreement.
The article notes that the Foley survey shows that Mexico will also is expected to see an uptick in auto part manufacturing as it increasingly fills in for China as a low-cost source of components.
