Amy Beard is a public affairs advisor with Foley & Lardner LLP. Amy has over 13 years of experience in government relations, reputation management, public policy, and legislative advocacy.
Amy’s experience includes being a founder of Windmill Consulting where she lobbied for clients such as Google, Uber, DJI Technology, and Walmart. Prior to Windmill Consulting, Amy was the governmental affairs consultant at Cammack & Strong, P.C., where for over 10 years she provided consulting services and advocacy on policy issues for clients in various industries including technology, alcohol & beverage, insurance, healthcare, telecommunications, jurisprudence, public safety, licensing, tax, and budget. After serving as an assistant sergeant-at-arms in the Texas Senate during the 79th legislative session, Amy worked as a research analyst at Baselice & Associates, Inc., a firm specializing in major political and corporate opinion research.
Education
Amy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, earning her degree in sociology. Her degree has served as a foundation in her career as she integrates diverse perspectives from a wide range of fields, including economics, psychology, and political science.
Community Engagement
Since 2011, Amy has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for The Center for Child Protection in Travis County. Additionally, Amy coaches Lake Travis Youth Association Cheer and was a big sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas Organization.
