Emily Beer is an associate and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Her practice includes a broad range of complex civil and commercial litigation, including contractual and business disputes, copyright and trademark matters, and employment litigation. Emily represents clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation dispute resolution through trial or arbitration. Emily is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice. She is also the representative for the New York office on the firm’s Associates Committee.
In 2014, Emily worked as a summer associate with Foley in the New York office. While in law school she served in a law clinic at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York and was a law clerk at the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office.
Prior to law school, Emily worked as a research and development associate for a medical device start-up conducting patent research and drafting grant applications for developing technology.
Emily earned her law degree from Cornell Law (J.D., cum laude, 2015) where she was general editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. She received her bachelor’s degree in science, technology, and society from Vassar College (B.A., magna cum laude, 2012).
Emily is admitted to practice in New York, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York.
