Garrett B. Bickford



Garrett Bickford is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice.

Garrett focuses his practice on preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications, analyzing matters of patentability and clearance, drafting freedom to operate and invalidity opinions, and counseling clients on patent enforcement strategies. He also provides technical support for patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, including inter partes reviews.

Prior to joining Foley, Garrett worked as a patent attorney at another Wisconsin-based national law firm, where he wrote provisional and non-provisional patents, prosecuted patent applications, provided substantive litigation support, and drafted freedom to operate and invalidity opinions. Prior to entering patent law, he worked briefly as a product design engineer for a large pump manufacturer.
