Overview

Timothy J. Bramwell is a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP. Tim is a member of the Finance & Financial Institutions, Public Finance, and Health Care Finance Practices. His practice focuses on public finance and health care finance, including related securities and tax matters.

Tim has represented issuers, underwriters, trustees and conduit borrowers in a variety of transactions, including public bond offerings and private placement transactions.

Prior to joining Foley, Tim was an associate with a mid-size, national law firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia as a member of its Taxation and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices. Tim’s practice focused on representing multi-family real estate developers in negotiations with their equity partners and lenders and representing taxpayers before the IRS and the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Prior to attending law school, Tim was a senior associate with CohnReznick LLP (then named Reznick Group, P.C.) in its tax department, where his work focused mainly in low-income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credit compliance.

Recognition

Tim was selected for inclusion in the 2019 Florida Trend Legal Elite “Up and Comer” list for his work as a business law.

Education

Tim earned his master of laws in taxation and juris doctor from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law (LL.M., 2010; J.D., 2009, with honors). During law school and tax school, Tim served as nonresident return director for the University of Florida’s IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentrations in accounting and economics, from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University (B.B.A., 2003).

Admissions and Certifications

Tim has been admitted to The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court. Tim is also a Certified Public Accountant in Florida.
