Sherry Clay



Sherry Clay is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Tax, Benefits & Estate Planning Practice. Prior to becoming an associate, Sherry was a summer associate at Foley and worked as a law clerk in 2017 and 2018, where she assisted clients by drafting estate planning documents and conducting research.

Prior to joining Foley, Sherry was a judicial intern for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Chambers of the Honorable Justice Ziegler. While working for the Honorable Justice Ziegler, Sherry summarized legal documents and wrote bench memorandums as well as conducted research for bench memorandums and analysis papers.


Sherry prepared presentation materials on recent developments in estate planning law for the 2017 and 2018 State Bar of Wisconsin Annual Estate Planning Seminars.


Sherry earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., cum laude, 2018), graduating with a concentration in estate planning with honors. During law school, she was an associate for the Wisconsin Law Review. Sherry also served on the Wisconsin Law Review’s online publication, “Wisconsin Law Review Forward,” selecting and preparing the published articles.

Sherry received her bachelor’s degree in government studies from Patrick Henry College (B.A., summa cum laude, 2014).


Sherry is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
