Bryan J. Dworak is a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the Finance Practice, Energy Industry Team, and the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Team. Mr. Dworak’s practice focuses on the development, financing, purchase, and sale of energy projects, primarily in the renewable energy industry. He regularly represents investors, lenders, sponsors, and developers in project finance transactions including sale-leasebacks, partnership flips, purchase and sale transactions, and construction and term debt financings. Mr. Dworak also has experience negotiating and reviewing a variety of project documents, including power purchase agreements, service contracts, REC agreements, interconnection agreements, and construction and procurement contracts. Mr. Dworak also assists and counsels clients in and out of the energy industry on a broad range of other commercial, financial, and transactional matters.
Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Dworak served as a student attorney for the Duke Law Community Enterprise Clinic, as a judicial intern for the Honorable Stephani W. Humrickhouse, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and as a legal intern for the Wrongful Convictions Clinic at the Duke Center for Criminal Justice and Professional Responsibility. During law school, Mr. Dworak was a summer associate with Foley.
Education
Mr. Dworak earned a law degree from Duke University School of Law, (J.D., magna cum laude, 2016), where he served as executive editor of Law and Contemporary Problems and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He was also the special litigation and case management director for the Duke Law Innocence Project. While at Duke, Mr. Dworak was recognized by the law school and the North Carolina Bar Association for his pro bono work. Mr. Dworak graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with honors and highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 2013) with majors in political science and global studies.
