Overview

Orrin Harrison is of counsel and a litigation attorney with Foley Gardere. Orrin’s practice focuses on coordinating and running large litigation defense cases for publicly regulated corporations. He has over 40 years of courtroom experience, has served as chief national outside litigation counsel to major companies, and is a frequent lead counsel in complex, multiparty litigation throughout the U.S.

Orrin represents clients with difficult, high-exposure business claims and disputes, which involve issues such as securities, mergers and acquisitions, construction, mutual funds, energy, and antitrust. He has appeared in trial courts in various states, as well as the various federal courts throughout the country.

Prior to joining Foley, Orrin was a partner at a Dallas-based law firm.

Representative Experience*

  • Successfully defended claw-back claims in weeklong trial in federal court against SEC-appointed trustee in Stanford Ponzi scheme resulting in first trial lost for trustee in five years
  • Successfully resolved a stock option backdating case for a large publicly held company after Wall Street Journal publicity; SEC investigation was dropped
  • Successfully resolved largest claim brought by an NASD against a member institution dealing with allegations of improper variable annuity switching; also, resolved all state securities actions simultaneously
  • Successfully defended a quantum meruit claim in federal court for a large automobile dealer; received favorable jury returned verdict in 16 minutes
  • Successfully obtained summary judgments and dismissals for a large Houston utility and its subsidiaries in a natural gas antitrust litigation in a state court in California and in a multidistrict litigation pending in Las Vegas federal court over 13-year period
