Lisa Hemphill

Special Counsel

Overview

Lisa Hemphill’s experience proves that she covers 360 degrees of trademark law. She is frequently clearing trademarks for use and registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, prosecuting applications, handling opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO, writing cease and desist letters to infringers, and conducting foreign prosecution of trademarks all around the world.

Representing startups to established companies with legal departments that outsource their intellectual property work, Lisa is also managing large trademark portfolios, conducting due diligence reviews of acquisition targets, preparing security agreements so that companies can leverage their intellectual property, and helping clients resolve disputes. Lisa has also counseled clients in the copyright area, particularly in their use of stock imagery.

Lisa is known for being highly personable and easy to work with. She goes above and beyond and handles issues and matters quickly with United States and foreign authorities and clients. Lisa makes a point of understanding each of her client’s business, growth plans and unique concerns – particularly today as they pursue global strategies to leverage and protect their IP assets.
