Margaret L. Johnson



Margaret Johnson is an associate attorney in the Transactions Practice Group with Foley & Lardner LLP.  Margaret is based in the firm’s Milwaukee office where she is a member of the Fund Formation & Investment Management Team.

Margaret has experience with the preparation of fund registration statements, shareholder reports, proxy statements and other filings on behalf of registered funds, including open-end funds, closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds. Margaret also has experience with private fund formation, including the preparation of organizational and offering documents and analysis under state securities (“blue sky”) laws. Margaret has working knowledge of federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Representative Matters

  • Represented investment companies, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and closed-end funds, and investment advisers in compliance and reporting obligations, fund registration, corporate governance, and general business matters.
