Jimmy Kwun is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm’s Electronics Practice. His practice focuses on U.S. and International IP counseling, including patent prosecution and procurement. Mr. Kwun has experience handling all aspects of patent prosecution and strategic counseling, trademark prosecution and strategic counseling, and patent/trademark litigation.
Mr. Kwun has prepared, prosecuted, and secured patents for clients in areas such as electronics, software, and mechanical technologies including wireless communications, consumer electronics, semiconductor devices, memory devices, power supplies, electronic components, display devices, secondary batteries and battery management systems, telecommunications, and deposition systems and processes. Mr. Kwun has served various types of clients ranging from early startup companies to Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to his patent law career, Mr. Kwun has served as a technology consultant, recruiter, and product manager/wireless data platform engineer.
Mr. Kwun earned his law degree at Loyola Law School (J.D., 2013). The honors and recognitions that Mr. Kwun received during law school include Dean’s List, Intellectual Property Fellow, and the CALI Award, Legal Writing II – Intellectual Property Concentration. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University (B.S., 2005).
Mr. Kwun is admitted to practice in California and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Kwun is also admitted to the Central District of California.
