Partner/Retired

Jonathan M. Lindeke is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and was a member of the Health Care Industry Team.

Jonathan provided advice and counsel to clients across the entire spectrum of the health care industry, including hospitals and hospital systems, physicians and medical groups, academic medical centers, long-term care providers, HMOs, and public entities such as health care districts and county governments. Jonathan regularly represented these clients on all types of general health law issues, including fraud and abuse and “Stark” self-referral laws, health care antitrust issues, and a wide variety of transactional matters.

Jonathan has extensive experience with managed health care, including capitated and “global risk” payment arrangements. He has represented clients in the formation and licensure of two HMOs, one of which is a provider-sponsored organization created by three health care systems, including a large academic medical center.

Jonathan also has extensive experience in health care joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, having been intimately involved in many such transactions nationwide. He acted as lead transactional counsel in the formation of Catholic Health Initiatives of Denver, Colo., one of the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the United States.

Having served as editor of the Health Care Law Newsletter, formerly published by Matthew Bender & Co., Inc., from 1990 to 1992, Jonathan has been a frequent speaker and writer on many national, regional and local health care issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan spent ten years in general business practice in San Francisco, with an emphasis on securities law.
