Shannon P. Lins



Shannon Lins is an associate attorney in Foley’s Transactions and Corporate Finance Practices.

Shannon works on a wide range of merger and acquisition matters across a wide range of industry sectors, including energy. He has worked on transactions involving divestitures of upstream oil and gas assets. Shannon is a member of Foley’s Energy Industry Team.

Shannon was a Foley summer associate in 2016, based in the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Foley, he was a clinical student for the Frank J. Remington Center law-in-action clinic at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Before pursuing his legal career, Shannon held several roles in the media industry as a producer, anchor, and reporter.


Representative Energy Matters

  • Represented a major oil company in $10.5 billion share purchase with BHP Billiton pursuant to which the oil company agreed to acquire substantially all of BHP Billiton's onshore US oil and gas properties


Shannon earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2017. He earned a B.A. degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2011.


Shannon is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Wisconsin.
