Ellen A. Matheson



Ellen Matheson is an associate attorney in the Litigation Department at Foley & Lardner LLP. She is based in the Milwaukee office, where she is a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

While in law school, Ellen served as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Diane S. Sykes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She also worked as a legal clerk for Northwestern Mutual, and as a research assistant to Dean Joseph Kearney of Marquette University Law School. Ellen was a summer associate in Foley’s Milwaukee office in 2021.

Before pursuing her law degree, Ellen spent five years as an intelligence officer in the United States Army. She was assigned to the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, deploying twice to the Republic of Korea with that unit. Ellen graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2014. She also studied abroad at Voronezh State University in Russia.
