Madeline R. Miller is a patent agent with Foley & Lardner LLP. Her practice includes preparing and prosecuting utility and design patent applications for a wide variety of technologies, including automotive devices, microelectronic circuit designs, and software applications for a variety of clients from technology giants to insurance companies. She is a member of the firm's Electronics Practice.
Working with inventors, clients, and examiners, Madeline has consistently demonstrated exceptional client service and care for work products.
Prior to joining Foley, Madeline worked in the Controls Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments as a co-op for Colonial Pipeline in Atlanta, Georgia. She designed critical facility communication network diagrams, oversaw high voltage breaker replacements across the Southeast, and implemented software changes to standardize original automation facilities while on field rotation in Richmond, Virginia.
While pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Madeline worked with a team focused on developing iOS applications for data collection and therapy of patients with brain-injury induced aphasia as well as a team for designing a micro-controlled sensing circuit for a wearable technology prototype to monitor spinal alignment during physical activity. Her final capstone project, which was sponsored by Eaton Corp, centered on compatibility between solid-state lighting devices (LEDs) and automation in the lighting industry.
