Madeline R. Miller is a patent engineer with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm's Electronics Practice.
Madeline began her career with Foley as a summer patent agent in the firm’s Boston office, receiving valuable hands-on experience working with inventors, clients, and examiners, as well as her colleagues to provide exceptional client service and care.
Prior to joining Foley, Madeline worked in the Controls Engineering department as a co-op for Colonial Pipeline in Atlanta, Georgia. She conducted a pipeline-wide audit of operational programs, designed critical facility communication network diagrams, and prepared a gap assessment of their disaster recovery plan. She also implemented programmable logic controller (PLC) program changes to standardize original automation facilities while on field rotation in Richmond, Virginia.
While in school, some of the projects Madeline worked on included developing iOS applications for data collection and therapy of patients with brain-injury induced aphasia and designing a micro-controlled sensing circuit for a wearable technology prototype to monitor spinal alignment during physical activity. Her final capstone project, which was sponsored by Eaton Corp, centered on compatibility between solid-state lighting devices (LEDs) and automation in the lighting industry.
