Overview

Nicholas Muehlbauer is a patent agent with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice.

Prior to joining Foley, Nick was an undergrad teaching assistant for the Mechanical Engineering Senior Design course at Iowa State University, where he assisted the professor with grading and administering the class. He was also an undergrad research assistant, where he collaborated with a team to create a 3-D metal based printer, developed mechanical systems required for the printer, and implemented designs from previous team members.

Previously, Nick was a mechanical engineering intern at TSI Incorporated, where he created testing procedures and carried out aerosol generation experiments. He also designed custom assembly fixture for specific products.

Nick was also an engineering intern at FTD Companies, where he conducted process studies to develop capacity prediction methods for diverse products. He also created an interactive information dashboard for executive staff to measure division performance.
