Katrina Nelson



Katrina Nelson (Stencel) is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Transactions Practice.

Previously, Katrina served as a summer associate at Foley’s Detroit Office. She also gained experience as a law clerk at Meridian Health Plan and as a consultant intern at Doeren Mayhew CPAs in its Valuation and Litigation Group.


Katrina earned her law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School (J.D., 2018), where she served as an alumni ambassador of the Student Bar Association Detroit, and as vice president of the Sports Communication and Entertainment Law Forum.

Katrina received her undergraduate degree from Oakland University in finance (B.S., 2015). Katrina also served as the financial affairs director at the Oakland University Student Congress, a member of the Women’s Division I Varsity Soccer Team, a member of the Academic Conduct Committee, and a women’s soccer student representative of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.

Community Engagement

Katrina has been involved in a variety of volunteer works at Summer in the City, Blessings in a Backpack, SCAMP for Special Needs Children, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Docs and Jocks Reading Program, and Salvation Army PB&J.


Katrina is admitted to practice law in Michigan.
